The seats for BDS & MDS are filled through a competitive examination "UPCAT Dental Entrance Examination" conducted by the Association of Private Dental & Medical Colleges of UP. ADMISSIONS AND ELIGIBILITY

BDS- Age Applicant should have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or should complete age on or before 31st Dec of the year of admission to the Dental course. Date of Birth recorded in High School/ ICSE or its equivalent certificate will be taken as accepted.

Qualification- The candidate must have passed the 10 + 2 examination i.e. I.C.S.E/ Intermediate examination or its equivalent comprising of a curriculum of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from the recognized board or University. The candidate must have passed in all the above subjects and obtained a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English taken together in the qualifying examination. Candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC category would require in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English a minimum of 40% marks as against the 50% marks for the general category candidates.

MDS- A candidate for admission to the MDS course (Master of Dental Surgery) must have a degree of BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) of an Indian University or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Dental Council of India. ADMISSION AND ELIGIBILITY

BDS - Bachelor of Dental Surgery.

Eligibility for BDS Candidates seeking admission to the 1year BDS degree course shall satisfy the following requirements:

A pass in HSC Examination ( 10+2 curriculam of the Government of Tamilnadu) or A pass in any examination of any university or authority accepted as equivalent to the above qualification with a minimum of 50% marks in the subjects.
Number of attempts to pass the qualifying examination and improvements for all the courses coming under medicine will be adopted as per the latest Government Orders in force.
Age Limit - Candidates should have completed 17 years of age on December 31st of the year of admission. Age shall be determined based only on the date of birth as given in SSLC / HSC or an equivalent examination certificate.
In addition to the requirements mentioned above the qualifying criteria assessed through common entrance examination conducted by Meenakshi University shall be followed.

He/she has passed qualifying examination as under:
The senior secondary examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination or form any recognized Board which is equivalent to 10 +2 examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of the study comprising of physics, Chemistry, Biology or any other elective subject with English as compulsory subject (English at a level not less than the core course or English as prescribed by NCERT.)
A Certificate for admission to BDS Course must have passed in the subject of physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in qualifying examination taken together in physics, Chemistry and Biology. In respect of candidates belonging to scheduled castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other backward Classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination be 40% instead of 50%.

A person seeking admission in BDS Programme must fulfill the following:
He/She should have attained the age of 17 years or more on 31st December during the year of admission. Matriculation/Higher Secondary or its Equivalent Certificate has to be submitted during the admission as proof of age.
Candidates who have passed Senior School Certificate Examination (10+2) of Board of School Education, CBSE/Haryana or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto with at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the qualifying examination, and must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology & English individually in the qualifying examination is eligible for admission to the first year of the B.D.S. Course.
In case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC the marks obtained be read as 40% instead of 50%.

Duration: The normal period of completing the MDS course shall be three academic years including the period of examination.

Admission to the course
The admission to the MDS course is made on the terms & conditions as prescribed by Govt. of Haryana from time to time.
Eligibility Criteria
A) Candidate will be eligible for appearing in the MDS Course if he/she:
Has passed the BDS examination with 50% from any Dental College/ institution recognized by the Dental Council of India
Has completed satisfactorily one year compulsory rotating paid Internship from colleges recognized by the Dental Council of India on or before 31st March.
Has registered permanently with the State Dental Council /DCI at the time of admission; if he does not have the same he will be required to obtain such registration within one month after admission to the P.G. course, failing which, his/her admission to the P.G. course will be cancelled.
Possesses a certificate of good conduct from the head of Institution last attended.
B) The candidate will also produce the above-mentioned certificates (1-4) in original at the time of counseling without which the admission shall not be granted.
C) Candidates already in service must submit their application form through their employer or produce ‘No Objection Certificate’, from the employer on or before the last date of receipt of the application form.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Admissions procedure for B.D.S course :
Total number of seats available in SIDS for B.D.S are 100. These 100 seats are divided into three categories:

Category A (Competent Authority Seats): 50 seats will be filled under this category. These seats are filled by Convenor, EAMCET based on EAMCET rank.
Category B (Management Seats): 20 seats will be filled under this category. These seats are filled by Convenor, EAMCET based on EAMCET rank. Annual fee charged for this category will be higher than category A.
Category C(Management Seats): 30 seats will be filled under this category.

Eligibility Criteria for B.D.S Course:
1. The candidate should complete the age of 17 years on or before December 31st of the year of admission to the B.D.S course.
2. The candidate should pass the qualifying examination as under:

The Intermediate examination in Science of an Indian University/Board of other recognised examining body with Physics, Chemistry and Biology which should include a practical test in these subjects and also English as a compulsory subject.
Any other equivalent examination of Indian or Foreign University

Admission procedure for BDS course

Eligibility Criteria for BDS Course under Management Quota:

1.The candidate should complete the age of 17 years on or before December 31st of the year of admission to the B.D.S course.

2. The candidate should pass the qualifying examination as under:

The higher secondary examination or the Indian school certificate examination which is equivalent to 10+2 higher secondary examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of study comprising of Physics , Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics or any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by National council for Educational research and training after the introduction of 10+2+3 years educational structure as recommended by the National committee on education.

OR

The intermediate examination in the science of an Indian university/Board or other recognized examining body with Physics, Chemistry and Biology which should include a practical test in these subjects and also English as a compulsory subject.

OR

Any other examination equivalent to the intermediate science examination of an Indian University/Board.

Emboldened by the overwhelming positive response of the community and the students, the management perceived a need to develop into a University, where autonomy and self reliance would place the institutions on the global map and would internally motivate them to higher levels of excellence. The IAE sponsored the formation of a new trust, the Yenepoya University, which after due process of inspection by the University Grants Commission (UGC), was recognized by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India on 27 February 2008, vide their notification No. F.9-11/2007-U.3(A). The Yenepoya University is the first private University in the District of Dakshin Kannada (South Canara).

The University maintains its social commitment through conducting free medical, eye & dental camps, in the community. It has also adopted 2 nearby villages for comprehensive and total health care and prevention (Kotepura & Balepuni). Special attention is being given to identify and treat HIV patients. We offer total health care support to a local HIV/AIDS Care and Support Centre. The YMC also runs Prevention of Parent to Child Transmission (PPTCT) & Integrated Counseling and Testing Centre (ICTC) programmes.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION TO B.D.S

1-The applicant should have passed the two-year Pre-University Examination in Karnataka or its equivalent examination.

2-The candidate should have completed seventeen years of age as on 31st December of the academic year of admission.

3-The candidate shouId have studied Physics,Chemistry and BioIogy in the qualifying examination conducted by any recognized Indian Higher Secondary Board or equivalent qualification

4-Candidates who have passed B.Sc.examinations are also eligible for admission subject to the subjects grouping as approved by the University.

5-The candidate should have secured not less than 50% aggregate in the Science subjects in the qualifying examination and a pass in English for admission to MBBS and BDS. However, for candidates belonging to scheduied caste and scheduled tribe categories, the minimum aggregate is 40%.

6-The candidate should be medically fit.
Any other conditions laid down by the University from time to time.

7-Admission shall be subject to the approval of Yenepoya University.

8-The candidate has to submit, in original, the following documents : a] SSLC Certificate b] PUC 2 Certificate c) Transfer Certificate.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION TO M.D.S.

1-The applicant should have passed MBBS/BDS Course from a recognized institution.

2-The applicant will adhere to new conditions and requirements that may be laid down by the Yenepoya University, from time to time.

3-Admission shall: be subject to the approval of the Yenepoya University.

4-In addition to the above certificates, the candidate has to submit the Migration Certificate, if required.
