Babu Banarasi Das College of Dental Sciences, is a part of Babu Banarasi Das University, was established in year 2000 by Babu Banarasi Das Educational Society under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta, M.P. (Rajya Sabha) & Ex. Union Minister of State of steel, Governemnt of India, with a vision to facilitate quality Dental health care & Education of global standards. The commitment, dedication & vision of Dr. Akhilesh Das, Hon’ble chairman, Dr. Alka Das, Hon’ble Vice-Chairperson, Dr. V.P. Sinha, Secretary of the society and Chief Group Advisor Mr. S.K. Agarwal have shaped BBDCODS into a premier Dental College of North India.

Research
Research is an integral part of the modern day Dentistry. We promote research not only among post graduate (MDS) students, which is part of their curriculum, but also among our undergraduates (BDS). Presently there are over 20 ongoing projects in various Departments in our college. Our Faculty Members have made contributions in National and International textbooks, chapters, presentations and publications. Few of our staffs are members of editorial board of a number of National and International Journals and are actively involved as visiting faculties in international universities.  Eligibilty For Admission
The candidates should have passed the two years PUC examination conducted by the PU. Education Board, Karnataka State, with English & Physics, Chemistry & Biology as optional subjects or any other examination recognized as equivalent to it by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore.

OR

The candidates should have passed the B.Sc. Examination of Bangalore University or any other statutory University provided. He/She has passed the B.Sc examination not less than three of the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology.
 
The candidates should have secured not less than 50% of the total marks in English and Science subjects taken altogether at the qualifying examination.
 
The candidates should have completed seventeen years of age as on 31st December of the year admission.
 
The foreign students desiring admissions should produce:
 i) A no objection certificate from the department of Health and Family welfare, Government of India, New Delhi.
ii) An eligibility certificate from the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore.
iii) Student Visa.
iv) Residential Certificate.
 
The selection is based on the Common entrance test (CET) conducted once a year by the Karnataka Government for all the students from the state and country seeking admission into the course.
 
Among the total number of seats available 15% are filled directly by the Management (N.R.I. Quota), the rest are divided into merit quota (50%) Payment (Karnataka and non Karnataka) quota (35%) and are allotted by the Govt. of Karnataka based on the ranking obtained at the C.E.T.Examination.
 
Individual candidates should furnish the following documents at the time of admission:
- Marks list of S.S.L.c.& P.U.C. Age proof certificate.
- Address proof Nationality certificate.
- Transfer certificate.

ADMISSION TO MDS COURSE 
 Eligibilty For Admission
A CANDIDATE FOR THE Admission TO THE MDS Course (Master of Dental Surgery) must have a degree of BDS from a Indian university recognized by the Dental council of India. The duration of the course is three years consisting of six terms. The academic term for the MDS course will start from 1st September of every year.
To be eligible for MDS course, a candidate should have passed BDS course from a recognized college and should have completed one years housemanship as on 30th May of the year.
At present the MDS course is offered by the college in the following specialities:

In case of international students applying for M.D.S. course, their undergraduate degree and the University should be recognized by the Dental Council of India. Eligibility for Admission for MDS Cource

A candidate for admission to the MDS course ( Master of Dental Surgery ) must have a degree of BDS     ( Bachelor of Dental Surgery ) from a college and University recognized by Dental Council of India or an qualification recognized by Rajiv Gandhi  University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, ( RGUHS ) and the Dental Council of India. Candidates not possessing a recognized Dental qualification for the above purpose should secure the prior approval  of his/ her qualifications by the Dental Council of India before admission to the MDS Course.

HOSTEL:

HOSTEL Facilities are available for boys and girls separately Girls Hostel  is located walkabel distance from the institute. Each student is provided with a cot , table, chair and cupboard, Hostel rooms are provided with light, fixtures, ceiling fans etc.,  the management reserves the right to change hostel fee and provisions given  in the prospectus. Mess facilities are available in the hostels .
