Krishnadevaraya College of Dental Sciences and Hospital,
Bangalore established in the year 1992 by Sri Krishnadevaraya Educational
Trust, Bangalore and now, the KCDS is the Unique name for Dental Education.
The KCDS is located in a region of stunning scenery of
hills, tall trees, blossoming flowers and clean and beautiful skyline. It is
situated 21 kms from Central Business District of Bangalore, in a quite and
serene campus of sprawling 133 acres called Krishnadevaraya Nagar on
International Airport Road.
KCDS is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health
Sciences, Karnataka, Bangalore.
Approved by Government of Karnataka.
Recognized by Dental Council of India, New Delhi and
Government of India.

Scope of Dentistry
Dentistry is a rapidly evolving professional which ensure
that people have healthy teeth thus contributing to their general health and
well-being Effective countenance plays always a vital role in reaping positive
results. Advances in technology such as the introduction of novel materials
have increased the scope of today’s dentistry in correcting defects of facial
appearance and its function. Desire to become dentist demands high degree of
technical skill, accurate clinical judgment, intelligence and a logical
inquiring mind. A graduate course in dentistry accomplished these skills in an
aspirant.
Essential services in the Campus:
A canteen that caters hygienic and quality south and north
Indian dishes.

STD & ISD booth, a provision and stationery stores and a
Bakery.
Anti Ragging Committee:
Anti Ragging committee has been formed to prevent ragging in
the campus. Any ragging would be met with exemplary punishment.
“ If any incidents of ragging comes to the notice of the
authority, the concerned student shall be given liberty to explain and if his
explanation is not found satisfactory, the authority would expel him from the
institutions”.
Hostel facilities:
Hostel facilities are provided separately for boys and girls
within the college campus. Each hostel
is equipped with state of the art facilities like Solar Geysers, fire fighting
equipments, telephone, a well furnished reading room and a recreation centre
housing television set, music system and indoor games.
Transportation:
Kirshnadevaraya Educational Trust runs 18 buses and several
vans for the transportation of staff and students from and to various parts of
Bangalore City.
Career Prospects:
A student after successful completion of the BDS Degree
course can register immediately with the State Dental Council for Practice and
to pursue Higher studies.
Infrastructure Facilities
The College provides comprehensive up-to- date facilities
for patient care, student clinical practice and training as well as facilities
for education and research in dental & oral diseases and disorders. The
various dental departments have spacious laboratories, clinics and
classrooms. An assortment of finest
quality dental equipments (Indian as well as imported), Complimented by an
equally outstanding team of highly qualified and experienced teachers are
available for sculpturing the students as tomorrows eminent dentists.
In addition to various dental departments such as Oral
Medicine & Diagnosis and Dental Radiology, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery,
Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Pedodontics, Conservative Dentistry
& Endodontic, Prosthodontics, Pre clinical
Prosthetics & Dental Material, Community Dentistry and Oral
Pathology, Dental & Oral Histology.
KCDS is also housing general medical subject teaching facilities in
General. Anatomy, Physiology & Bio-chemistry, General pathology and
Microbiology, General Medicine and General Surgery.
A spacious library with independent study facilities for the
students is located in quiet area of the college. A vast collection of text and reference
books along with National and international journals on dentistry and medical subjects are available for the
students. Added to this, the library has
audio-visual section, periodical section, internet and reprographic facilities.
The individual departments also have their departmental libraries for quick
references. The college Library is a member of Helinet E Journals made available
by RGUHS.
For the purpose of clinical training of the students in the
subjects of Gen. Medicine and Gen. Surgery our sister concerned Krishnadevaraya
Hospital & Research Centre, a 100 bedded hospital is well equipped with
ultra modern health care facilities and sophisticated state of the art
equipments is situated in the same campus.
In addition, the college is permitted by the State Government to utilize
the facilities of the 100 bed Government General Hospital, Yelahanka.
